Hollywood royalty?
I love this picture of Helen Mirren chowing down on a big old burger at one of the parties following her Oscar win! Such a down-to-earth contrast between the glamour of the Oscars and the royalty of her role, and a woman who probably hasn't had a bite since breakfast -- before hair, makeup, dress-fitting, long limo ride and four-hour awards ceremony.
Reminds me of another burger-loving Essex gal named Rachel Fuller.
Enjoy, Helen -- and the bag of chips is a nice touch!

Word is she is being invited to Buckingham Palace for some tea. Might confuse some there, I'd think. "Gosh, two Queens, well I never!"
I have to correct your last line, I'm afraid: 'packet of crisps' is more 'essex', if you kno' wha' a mean.
Gawd she was starving! No doubt she hadn't eaten in a while. Looks like a sports bar to boot. I wonder if her hubby is/isn't a big spender or where she was that burger could have cost $100!
Only for Mirren!

Paul,
You are right, "packet of crips" is so veddy much more appropriate. From what I hear about Elizabeth Regina's staff, it wouldn't be the first time more than one queen roamed the halls of Buckingham.
ginab,
Always nice to see your mark here. I expect the burger was gratis at one or another fete, be it the Governor's Ball or the Vanity Fair shindig at Morton's.
Makes me respect her even more (in addition to her acting talent). She is clearly not one of those people who with their stardom have begun to think that they cannot have any association with the lowly, "ordinary" people.

Rachel would definately appreciate that pic.
I'm hungry now...
Burger for breakfast- why not?
A turkey burger...that's all I've got.
Hope you are well!
Going to the Attic Jam are we?
Not I said the poor blogger...
Take care!

Chris, I loved this photo so much, I sent it on to my sister. She immediately pegged the burger as an In 'N' Out burger. She's right!
Thanks for the very cool photo.
And I'm still excited for you about the role in "Betrayal." Wowee.
